Sign in and set your preferences
Sign in by password, code, passkey or single sign-on, recover a password, and set how dates, times and the interface look to you.
This guide is for every person who signs in to the Brix CMS. Learn how to get in with a password, a code, a passkey or single sign-on. Learn how to get back in when something goes wrong, and how to set the way dates, times and the interface look to you.
What you can do
- Sign in — Use your password, a passkey or your company single sign-on.
- Two-factor code — Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app when Brix asks for one.
- Password reset — Get a reset link by email when you forget your password.
- Email confirmation — Confirm your address from the link Brix sends you.
- Session recovery — Sign back in after your session expires without losing unsaved work.
- Your preferences — Set the time format, the week start, the date format and the temperature unit.
- Accessibility — Turn on high contrast, reduced motion, bigger targets, readable text or underlined links.
- Privacy — Turn usage analytics and session recording on or off.
Sign in with your email and password
- Open the sign-in page.
- Type your work email into Email.
- Type your password into Password.
- Select the eye button to check what you typed.
- Select Sign in.

Enter a two-factor code
If your workspace uses two-factor authentication, Brix asks for a code after your password.
- Submit your email and password.
- Read the 6-digit code from your authenticator app.
- Type the code into 6-digit code.
- Select Verify.
Sign in with a passkey
- Open the sign-in page.
- Type your email into Email.
- Select Sign in with a passkey.
- Approve the prompt on your device.
Sign in with single sign-on
- Open the sign-in page.
- Type your work email into Email.
- Wait for the Your workspace uses single sign-on box to appear.
- Select the Continue with button that names your provider.
- Finish the sign-in at your identity provider.
Reset a forgotten password
- Open the sign-in page.
- Type your email into Email.
- Select Forgot password? under the password field.
- Read the confirmation note on the page.
- Open the reset link in your email within one hour.
- Wait for the Checking your link… message to finish.
- Check that the address in the Setting a new password for line is yours.
- Type a new password of at least 12 characters into New password.
- Type the same password into Confirm password.
- Select Set new password.
- Select Sign in on the confirmation screen.
Confirm your email address
- Open the confirmation link from your email.
- Wait for the Verifying your email… message to finish.
- Read the confirmation message.
- Select Back to the CMS.
Sign back in when your session expires
When your session expires, Brix opens a dialog over the page. The page behind the dialog stays loaded, so your unsaved editor work survives.
- Read the Your session expired dialog.
- Check that the email in the dialog is yours.
- Type your password.
- Select Sign in.
- If your workspace uses two-factor authentication, type your 6-digit code.
- Carry on where you left off.
Set how dates and times look to you
Your choices on this page change only what you see. The workspace defaults still apply to new members and to screens.
- Open Settings > Your profile.
- Under Your preferences, pick 12-hour or 24-hour for Time format.
- Pick Monday or Sunday for Week starts on.
- Pick
MM/DD/YYYY,DD/MM/YYYYorYYYY-MM-DDfor Date format. - Pick °F or °C for Temperature.
- Watch for the Saving… note beside the control you changed.

Go back to a workspace default
- Open Settings > Your profile.
- Find the row with the Reset to workspace default link under its label.
- Select Reset to workspace default.
- Check that the row now reads Workspace default: with the inherited value.
Turn usage analytics and session recording on or off
- Open Settings > Your profile.
- Scroll to the Privacy section.
- Read the state line under Usage analytics and session recording.
- Select Turn off to stop the recording.
- Or select Turn on to allow the recording.
- Wait for the page to reload.
Choose how the CMS looks to you
- Open Settings > Accessibility.
- Turn on High contrast to darken muted text, links and status colors.
- Turn on Reduce motion to cut animations and transitions.
- Turn on Larger click targets to pad small controls to 44 by 44 pixels.
- Turn on Readable text for taller line spacing and narrower paragraphs.
- Turn on Underline links so an inline link does not rely on color alone.

Undo your display preferences
- Open Settings > Accessibility.
- Select Reset display preferences below the Display card.
Ask for alt text across the workspace
The Workspace defaults card sits below the Display card and changes what everyone sees.
- Open Settings > Accessibility.
- Scroll to Workspace defaults.
- Turn on Require alt text on images.
