Buying the Amazon Signage Stick through Amazon.ca costs more than buying it in bulk through Brix. Amazon.ca lists the Stick at C$174.99 before tax, well above the $99.99 US price, and your province adds 5% to 15% sales tax on top. Brix passes on its US bulk price with no markup and ships to Canada for about $55 per 100 units.
For a rollout of 10 screens or more, talk to Brix before you order from Amazon.ca.
Why Amazon.ca costs more than Amazon.com
Amazon.ca lists the Amazon Signage Stick at C$174.99, before tax (Amazon's own Canada listing). Convert that to US dollars and it comes out about 20% to 30% more than the $99.99 US list price, before any tax. The Stick itself is the same device on both sides of the border. The gap is Amazon.ca's own Canadian retail price.
Prices on this page are in US dollars, as Brix states them everywhere. The one exception is Amazon.ca's own listed price above, shown in Canadian dollars because that is the currency on its own listing.
Canada's sales tax adds more on top
Amazon.ca's C$174.99 price does not include sales tax. Canada's GST, HST and PST system adds more at checkout, and the rate depends on your province:
- Alberta, Yukon, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut: 5% GST only.
- British Columbia and Manitoba: 12% (5% GST plus a 7% PST).
- Saskatchewan: 11% (5% GST plus a 6% PST).
- Ontario: 13% HST.
- Nova Scotia: 14% HST.
- New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Prince Edward Island: 15% HST.
A single Stick bought on Amazon.ca in Ontario costs C$197.74 after tax. In Alberta, with no provincial sales tax, it still costs C$183.74.
What a bulk order through Brix costs instead
Brix buys Signage Sticks through its own bulk account in the US and passes on that price with no markup. Shipping to Canada runs about $55 US per 100 units, so a smaller order pays a smaller share of that cost. Brix's published bulk price is $94.99 per Stick at 10 units or more, and $92.99 per Stick at 50 units or more (checked 2026-09-30). Brix also handles the logistics: one shipment and one invoice for the whole order, delivered to your locations, instead of tracking separate Amazon.ca orders per site.
The table below uses Ontario's 13% HST as the Amazon.ca example, since it is the most populous province. Your own province's rate from the list above changes the Amazon.ca total, not the Brix total.
| Screens | Amazon.ca before tax | Amazon.ca with Ontario's 13% HST | Brix bulk price (US dollars) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 | C$1,749.90 | C$1,977.39 | $949.90 + $5.50 shipping = $955.40 |
| 30 | C$5,249.70 | C$5,932.16 | $2,849.70 + $16.50 shipping = $2,866.20 |
| 100 | C$17,499.00 | C$19,773.87 | at least $8,299 + $55 shipping = $8,354 (ask Brix for the exact price at this volume) |
A 100-screen order costs thousands of Canadian dollars more through Amazon.ca than the US-dollar total Brix charges for the same Sticks, even before converting currencies.
Why Brix is cheaper for the same Stick
Three things stack up:
- No Canadian retail markup. Brix sources at the US price, not Amazon.ca's higher Canadian list price.
- No markup on top. Brix passes on its bulk cost. It does not add a margin to the Stick itself. Brix earns its money on the signage software, not the hardware.
- Volume pricing. Ten Sticks or more already qualify for Brix's lower per-unit rate. Fifty or more qualify for a lower rate again.
Brix still has to ship the Sticks to Canada, which the about-$55-per-100-units figure above covers. Ask Brix for the exact landed cost for your order. That figure does not include any customs duty or brokerage fee that may apply to your specific shipment.
The real cost per screen: Stick plus software
The Stick is a small part of what a screen costs over a year. Brix runs $6 per screen per month billed annually, or $72 a year, regardless of where the Stick came from. On a 10-screen order through Brix, year one costs $955.40 for the Sticks plus $720 for the software, or $167.54 per screen. The same 10 screens bought direct from Amazon.ca in Ontario, with HST, cost C$1,977.39 for the Sticks alone, before a cent of software.
Hardware sourcing changes the Stick line. It does not change the software line. Over three years, the software line is still the larger cost on every screen, whichever way you bought the Stick. At 100 screens through Brix, year one costs at least $8,354 for the Sticks plus $7,200 for the software, against C$19,773.87 for the Sticks alone through Amazon.ca with Ontario's HST, before any software is added.
Setting up a Signage Stick bought through Brix
Setup is the same Stick, so it is the same process, however you bought it. During the Stick's own on-screen setup, pick "Brix Signage." Then pair it in the CMS: Screens > Add screen > Pair a hardware device. Setup takes about 10 minutes. Across the Signage Sticks running Brix, pairing itself takes a median of 2.6 minutes, from the code appearing on the TV to the screen showing up in Brix, in Brix's own fleet.
How to order Signage Sticks through Brix
Contact Brix with:
- Your screen count, and whether it may grow past 10, 30 or 50 (each threshold changes the per-unit price).
- The province or provinces the screens go to, so Brix can give you the landed cost for your order.
- A rough delivery date, so Brix can time the shipment with your rollout.
Brix sources the Sticks in bulk, handles the shipping, and sets up the signage software on every one. See the full Signage Stick price breakdown by country and buying the Stick outside the US for how other markets compare.
FAQ
Is the Amazon Signage Stick cheaper in Canada or the US?
The US. Amazon.ca lists the Stick at C$174.99 before tax, about 20% to 30% more than the $99.99 US price even after converting currencies. Canada's sales tax then adds 5% to 15% more.
Does Brix add a markup when it buys Signage Sticks in bulk?
No. Brix passes on its bulk price with no markup. Brix's revenue comes from the signage software, billed per screen per month, not from the hardware.
How many Signage Sticks do I need to order before Brix's bulk price applies?
Ten or more. Brix's published bulk price starts at 10 units, with a lower rate again at 50 units and up. Below 10, you buy a single Stick at the standard $99.99 price.
What does shipping cost on a bulk Signage Stick order to Canada?
About $55 US per 100 units. A smaller order pays a smaller share of that figure. It does not include any customs duty or brokerage fee that applies to your specific shipment.
Is the Amazon Signage Stick really sold in Canada?
Yes. Amazon.ca lists it, and Amazon's own Canada signage page confirms it. Talk to Brix once you are ordering 10 or more Sticks.
