Yodeck costs less on the entry plan ($8 per screen per month against OptiSigns' $9 billed annually) and includes a Raspberry Pi 4 player with every annual screen. OptiSigns costs less for roles, SAML single sign-on and audit logs ($13.50 against Yodeck's $16), adds a real approval workflow at that price, and runs on more hardware, including Apple TV and Roku. Pick Yodeck for the lowest cost with hardware included. Pick OptiSigns for team controls at a lower price, a mixed fleet of devices, or a 24/7 commercial player.

Which costs less, Yodeck or OptiSigns?

On the entry plan, Yodeck is cheaper:

  • Yodeck Basic: $8 per screen per month, the same billed annually or monthly. An annual plan includes a 1 GB Yodeck Player for each screen.
  • OptiSigns Standard: $9 per screen per month billed annually, or $10 billed monthly. No player included.

For a team plan with custom roles, SAML SSO and audit logs, OptiSigns is cheaper:

  • OptiSigns Pro Plus: $13.50 per screen per month billed annually, or $15 monthly.
  • Yodeck Enterprise: $16 per screen per month, billed annually or monthly. An annual plan includes a 4 GB Yodeck Player Plus for each screen.

The other tiers: Yodeck Premium is $12 (proof of play, API, Microsoft 365 apps). OptiSigns Engage is $27 annually or $30 monthly (interactive kiosks). OptiSigns Enterprise is $40.50 annually or $45 monthly, with a 25-screen minimum. Yodeck added $1 per screen per month to Premium and Enterprise on April 1, 2026: see what changed in Yodeck's price increase.

What 10 screens cost over 3 years, players included

Annual billing. The OptiSigns rows add one $99.99 OptiStick per screen. The Yodeck rows use the free player that comes with an annual plan (shipping is extra).

Yodeck Enterprise$5,760Included (4 GB)$5,760
OptiSigns Pro Plus$4,860$999.90$5,859.90

With players counted, Yodeck Enterprise and OptiSigns Pro Plus cost about the same. OptiSigns rates the OptiStick for 16 hours a day. For screens that run 24/7 it recommends the $349 Pro Player, which takes the Pro Plus total to $8,350. On hardware you already own, the OptiSigns totals drop by $999.90.

Which plan has roles, SSO, audit logs and approval?

On approval, the two work differently:

  • Yodeck: the Restricted Content Manager role can edit content but cannot publish it. Someone with publish rights must push it to screens. There is no request queue or approval status.
  • OptiSigns: Pro Plus lists "Approval Workflow & Collaboration", so a draft waits for a reviewer before it goes live.

Which players does each one sell?

Both sell their own players, pre-loaded and ready to pair. Yodeck sells one board in two memory sizes. OptiSigns sells three players at three price points.

The next stick is already certified: FCC ID 2AOVU-D2OTS, model "optistick4", runs Android 14 and adds Wi-Fi 6 (fccid.io). That is why OptiSigns' product page lists Android 14 while its spec table still lists Android 11.

Video walls on the Pro and ProMax need the Video Wall add-on, sold separately (OptiSigns player guide). Unused players go back within 30 days of purchase. You pay the return shipping, or OptiSigns deducts $10 for its prepaid label (return policy).

Which other hardware does each one run on?

Both run on the Amazon Signage Stick, Fire TV sticks, Android and Google TV devices, Raspberry Pi, BrightSign, LG webOS, Samsung Tizen, ChromeOS and Windows (Yodeck plan grid, OptiSigns hardware list).

Only OptiSigns runs on:

  • Apple TV (tvOS 14 or later)
  • Roku
  • iPhone and iPad
  • Mac and Linux PCs, with a native app. Yodeck reaches those through its web player in a browser.

Points to check before you buy:

  • ChromeOS: Yodeck runs as a kiosk web app and needs Google's Chrome Enterprise kiosk licences (Yodeck ChromeOS setup).
  • Vega OS: OptiSigns does not run on Amazon's Firestick Select line or other Vega OS devices.
  • Remote reboot and screenshots in OptiSigns: only on its own players, on Pro Plus or higher (OptiSigns remote commands). On an Amazon Signage Stick, OptiSigns updates content but does not reboot or capture the screen. Yodeck shows player screenshots on every plan.

How long does each one play without internet?

  • Yodeck: at least 30 days. The player shows a warning 3 days before it stops, and stops between 30 and 40 days offline. Videos, YouTube videos and images play offline. Web pages and live streams do not (Yodeck offline docs).
  • OptiSigns: no cut-off. Downloaded images, videos and documents keep playing; in its words, "losing internet connection will not affect your playback". YouTube, Vimeo and social media items are skipped until the connection returns (OptiSigns offline playback).

So for YouTube clips on a weak connection, Yodeck is the safer pick. For a screen that may sit offline for months, OptiSigns is.

How fast can you set up a screen?

  • Yodeck Player: you configure the screen in the Yodeck portal, and the player arrives pre-configured. Plug in HDMI and power and it plays. No keyboard is needed.
  • OptiSigns players: you can enter the Wi-Fi details when you order. The stick then joins the network at first boot. Without that, you set up Wi-Fi with the included remote and pair the screen at app.optisigns.com. Pro and ProMax players can be pre-configured in bulk.
  • Devices you already own: with either vendor, you install the app on the device and register the screen in the portal.

What do you get free?

  • Yodeck free plan: 1 screen, forever, with all Basic features, unlimited storage and unlimited users. It stays free only while the account has one screen.
  • OptiSigns free plan: up to 3 screens, 25 basic apps and 1 GB of storage, with the OptiSigns logo on screen. It runs only on OptiSigns players, Windows, macOS, Linux and Raspberry Pi; not on Amazon devices, smart TVs, Apple TV or Roku (OptiSigns free plan).
  • Yodeck trial: 30 days, up to 5 screens, every feature, no card. No player ships during the trial.
  • OptiSigns trial: 14 days with the Pro Plus features, no card.

Security, hosting and support

  • Certifications: Yodeck is ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 certified (Yodeck security). OptiSigns has a SOC 2 Type II report (OptiSigns security).
  • Hosting: Yodeck hosts in the EU, on AWS in Ireland and Sweden. OptiSigns hosts in the US; EU, UK, Canada and Australia are on request, on Engage and above (OptiSigns data residency).
  • Support: Yodeck includes online support on every plan, 24/5 on Enterprise and 24/7 on Enterprise+. OptiSigns gives email support on Standard and email plus phone on Pro Plus, from a Houston team.
  • Mobile: OptiSigns has an admin app for iOS and Android (OptiSigns mobile app).
  • Content: Yodeck lists 800+ templates and 90+ apps on Basic. OptiSigns lists 100+ apps on Standard and has an Engage plan for touch kiosks.

  • Strengths: 3 free screens; the widest device list of the two; a commercial 24/7 player range; SOC 2 Type II; no offline cut-off.

Where Brix fits

Brix is one plan: $6 per screen per month billed annually, or $8 billed monthly. Roles, approvals, audit log and OpenID Connect single sign-on are on that one plan. Ten screens for 3 years cost $2,160, or $3,159.90 with a $99.99 Amazon Signage Stick on each screen. Brix runs on the Signage Stick, Fire TV, Android and Google TV devices, and Windows. It is not the right choice if you need SAML, a SOC 2 report, a Raspberry Pi, LG webOS, BrightSign or Apple TV player, or a synced video wall: Yodeck or OptiSigns serves those better. Support is US-based, 7 days a week, at no extra cost. Start a free 7-day trial, no card needed.
