The Amazon Signage Display costs $699.99 (Amazon's suggested price) in the US, where it is sold on Amazon.com and Amazon Business. That buys a 55-inch 4K screen with the signage player built in. You also need signage software (a CMS), which is a monthly cost per screen, and a wall mount if it does not stand on its stand. A 55-inch TV plus an Amazon Signage Stick costs less up front, but a consumer TV is not built or warrantied for business use.

What does one screen cost?

With Brix at $6 per screen per month billed annually:

Year oneEach year afterThree years
Signage Display$699.99
Brix software$72$72$216
Total$771.99$72$915.99

Add a VESA 300 x 300 wall mount if you hang it. On monthly billing Brix is $8 per screen per month. Other CMSs cost from about $8 to $30 per screen per month; see the CMS table in Amazon Signage Stick price. The software is charged per screen, so a Display costs the same to run as a Stick.

How does it compare with the alternatives?

Prices for a 55-inch screen, read on Amazon.com, Walmart.com and LG's site on October 1, 2026:

SetupHardware pricePlayerHours ratedBusiness warranty
Consumer 4K TV + Signage Stick$190 to $300 TV + $99.99Signage StickHome useUsually not
Google TV + Brix app from Google PlayAbout $270 to $400Built-in Google TVHome useUsually not
Amazon Signage Display$699.99Built in18/71 year
Commercial display rated 24/7 + Signage StickAbout $940 to $1,260 + $99.99Signage Stick24/7Usually 3 years

The TV prices were sale prices on the day (for example an Insignia 55-inch at $189.99 and a Hisense 55-inch at $299.99). The 24/7 display is Samsung's QM55C, which Samsung rates at 500 nits for 24/7 use, listed at $1,260 and sold for $939.81 that day.

Is a cheaper TV and a Stick good enough?

Often, yes, and it costs about half. The catches:

  • Hours. Samsung's own guidance says consumer TVs are designed for about 8 hours a day (Samsung Insights). A menu board on for 15 hours a day wears a TV faster.
  • Warranty. Samsung also says commercial use voids a consumer TV's warranty. Check your TV's terms. The Signage Display is sold for business signage and comes with a 1-year limited warranty.
  • Parts. A TV and a Stick are two devices, two power plugs and an HDMI link. Each can be unplugged, set to the wrong input or put to sleep by the TV's own timer.
  • HDMI-CEC. For the CMS to turn the TV off at night, the TV has to answer HDMI-CEC. Most do, but it is often switched off. See HDMI-CEC not working.

For a few screens you can walk to, a TV and a Stick is a sensible saving. For many locations with no technical staff, the extra cost of the Display buys fewer parts and a business warranty.

Is a Google TV cheaper still?

A 55-inch TV with Google TV built in costs about the same as a plain TV, and many signage apps install from Google Play, so you need no player at all. It is the lowest-cost route. But the TV is an open consumer device: staff can open YouTube, the TV's updates and pop-ups can interrupt the sign, and a CMS cannot manage it as fully as an Amazon Signage device.

When is the Display worth $699.99?

  • You need a new 55-inch screen anyway.
  • It runs business hours, not 24/7.
  • It hangs in landscape.
  • You want one product per location, with a warranty that covers business use.

When is it not?

Can you get it for less?

Amazon sets the suggested price at $699.99. Amazon Business accounts may see a business price, and Amazon runs promotions on its own devices. Check the listing before you order. Planning a larger rollout? Talk to us.

Where Brix fits

Brix runs on the Signage Display and the Signage Stick with the same app, for $6 per screen per month billed annually or $8 billed monthly. Our favourite device is the Signage Stick: it is the best value. If you want the screen and the player in one box, the Signage Display is the best all-in-one for Brix, with remote screenshots, reboots and screen hours that keep it inside its 18/7 rating by default.
