Workspace settings and brand kit
Set the workspace name, time zone, formats and volume, add your logo and colours, and turn optional features on or off.
Workspace settings hold the name, the time zone, the formats and the volume that every screen inherits. The brand kit holds your company name, logo, colors and fonts. Use this guide to set up a new workspace, or to change how every screen looks and sounds.
What you can do
- Name the workspace — Give the workspace the name your team knows.
- Set the time zone — Choose the zone screens use for clocks and schedules.
- Set the formats — Choose 12-hour or 24-hour time, the date order and °F or °C.
- Set the language — Pick one language for every screen, or one per location.
- Set how loud screens play — Set one volume for the workspace, or mute every screen.
- Build your brand kit — Keep your company name, logo and two brand colors in one place.
- Style the on-screen apps — Pick the theme, the backdrop and the color strength.
- Upload custom fonts — Add your own font files to the workspace.
- Turn optional features on or off — Override the defaults Brix picks from your screen count.
Rename the workspace
- Select Settings in the sidebar.
- Select Workspace in the settings list.
- Select the Name field in the General card.
- Type the new name.
- Select any other part of the page to save the name.

️ The Workspace page has no Save button. Brix saves each control the moment you change it. The Name field saves when the field loses focus.
️ If a save fails, Brix puts the control back to the previous value and says so.
️ The General card also shows the Workspace ID, the Plan and the Data residency region. All three are read-only. Quote the Workspace ID when you write to support. To change the plan, read billing and your plan. To move your media to another region, write to support.
Set the time zone screens use
- Select Settings in the sidebar.
- Select Workspace in the settings list.
- Open the Default screen timezone list.
- Pick the zone your screens use, for example
America/New_York. - To take the zone your browser reports, select Use this under the list.
️ Default screen timezone does not change the CMS. The CMS shows every time in the zone of your own browser. A screen uses this zone only when the screen and its location hold no zone of their own.
️ A new workspace starts on UTC. Use this appears only when your browser reports a different zone.
Set the date, time and temperature formats
- Select Settings in the sidebar.
- Select Workspace in the settings list.
- Pick 12-hour or 24-hour under Time format.
- Pick Monday or Sunday under Week starts on.
- Pick the date order you want under Date format.
- Pick °F or °C under Temperature.
️ Date format offers
MM/DD/YYYY, DD/MM/YYYY and YYYY-MM-DD. A new workspace starts on 12-hour time, Monday, MM/DD/YYYY and °F.Set the language for screens
- Select Settings in the sidebar.
- Select Workspace in the settings list.
- Open the Language list.
- Pick your language.
- If different locations or screens need their own language, turn on Multinational.
- Set the language on the location or on the screen afterwards.
️ With Multinational off, every screen uses the workspace language. With Multinational on, the workspace language becomes the default, and a location or a screen can hold its own.
️ The Multinational switch is always visible. The per-location language, the per-screen Language field and the feed translation switch stay hidden until Multinational is on.
Set how loud screens play
- Select Settings in the sidebar.
- Select Workspace in the settings list.
- Drag the Volume slider to the level you want.
- Read the percentage beside the slider.
- To silence every screen, turn on Mute everything.
️ Mute everything overrides a screen that sets its own volume. The Volume slider does not. A screen with its own level keeps that level.
️ With Mute everything on, you cannot move the Volume slider. Videos keep playing, with no sound. A new workspace plays at 60%.
If one or more screens set their own volume, an amber note under the slider names them. Select Reset all to workspace volume in that note to put those screens back on the workspace level.
️ Reset all to workspace volume changes each screen one at a time. If some screens do not take the change, Brix says so.
To set one screen louder or quieter, read screen settings and display power.
Set your company name and logo
- Select Settings in the sidebar.
- Select Brand kit in the settings list.
- Type your company name in the Company name field.
- Press Enter to save the name.
- Select Upload logo.
- Choose a PNG, JPEG, SVG or WebP file.
- To swap a logo you already have, select Replace.
- To clear the logo, select Remove.
️ Company name is the name of your Organization. A save renames the workspace as well, and Settings > Workspace shows the same name.
️ Brix puts the logo in your media library as a media file. Read upload and organize media.
Choose your brand colors
- Select Settings in the sidebar.
- Select Brand kit in the settings list.
- Select a swatch on the Primary colour row.
- To use a color of your own, select the color box at the end of the row.
- Select a swatch on the Accent colour row.

️ Both colors reach your templates and your on-screen apps. Read design a sign and on-screen apps.
️ If a color or a logo save fails, Brix puts the previous value back. Your screens keep the previous brand.
️ Where it applies lists the locations the brand kit covers. The section stays hidden while the workspace has one location. The list shows eight locations, then a count of the rest.
Style the on-screen apps
- Select Settings in the sidebar.
- Select Brand kit in the settings list.
- Go to On-screen app appearance.
- Pick Dark or Light under Theme.
- Pick Aurora, Dots, Grid or Solid under Backdrop.
- Drag Colour intensity to set how strong the color wash is.
- Read the Preview panel to check the result.
️ Presets holds two shortcuts. Match the CMS (teal) sets the two brand colors to the CMS teal and blue. Reset to Brix blue puts the theme, the backdrop, the intensity and both colors back to the Brix defaults.
️ Reset to Brix blue resets the whole appearance, not the color alone.
Upload a custom font
- Select Settings in the sidebar.
- Select Brand kit in the settings list.
- Go to Custom fonts.
- Select Choose files.
- Pick one or more .woff, .woff2, .ttf or .otf files.
- Wait for the processing… row to become the family name and the weight count.
️ You can also drag font files onto the dashed Upload a font area.
️ If an upload fails, Brix names the files that did not arrive. The list reads at most 100 fonts.
Turn a feature on or off
- Select Settings in the sidebar.
- Select Organization in the settings list.
- Select the Feature defaults tab.
- Find the feature in its group.
- Read the description and the Default on or Default off note.
- Select the switch on that row.

️ The groups are Workflow, Org, Content, Devices, Operations and Advanced.
️ Brix picks the defaults from the number of screens in the workspace. 10 screens or fewer is Simple. 11 to 50 is Team. More than 50 is Enterprise. The card at the top of the tab names your size, and the size follows the fleet as the fleet grows.
️ The settings list holds no Features item. The page is the Feature defaults tab of Organization. To read about the rest of that page, open organization, people and roles.
️ A switch you move away from the default gains an Overridden pill. Move the switch back to the default value, and the pill goes away.
️ Proof of Play recording starts off for every workspace. The same switch sits on the Proof of Play report. Read proof of play and audit.
️ Emergency alert integrations reveals the emergency tools only alongside a rollout that Brix support turns on. Until then, the switch changes nothing you can see. Read alerts and emergencies.
Put the features back to the defaults
- Select Settings in the sidebar.
- Select Organization in the settings list.
- Select the Feature defaults tab.
- Look for the amber banner that counts the overridden features.
- Select Reset to defaults.
️ Reset to defaults clears the overrides held in this browser only. A flag saved for the workspace comes back when you reload the page.
️ The banner appears only while at least one feature differs from the size default.
